Cyclist Is Latest To Give Presidential Motorcade The Middle Finger

Even as norms continue to erode, frustration with motorcades is one time-honored tradition that endures during the Trump administration. But I get the feeling that this cyclist's flip of the bird, captured by photographer Brendan Smialowski, might have to do with more than feeling inconvenienced by the
convoy of vehicles sharing the road.

After another visit to his Sterling, Va. golf club on Saturday afternoon, President Donald Trump and his motorcade were en route back to D.C. The pool reporter described the scene that followed:
POTUSs motorcade departed the Trump National Golf Club at 3.12pm, passing two pedestrians, one of whom gave a thumbs down sign. Then it overtook a female cyclist, wearing a white top and cycling helmet, who responded by giving the middle finger. The motorcade had to slow and the cyclist caught up, still offering the finger, before turning off in a different direction.
Voice of America White House Bureau Chief Steve Herman, who witnessed the cyclist's response, says the cyclist first flipped the bird shortly after the motorcade left the golf club and again at the traffic light by Great Falls Center. ... It's unknown whether Trump got the message. "He had on reading glasses so he may not have been looking out the window," Herman tweeted.
The cyclist has not yet been identified, despite offers of free beer and morning television interviews.
