DUBLIN, Va. (WDBJ7)— The Volvo group announced Friday it will invest $400 million dollars to expand its operations in Dublin; bringing 777 new jobs to Pulaski County. ... Over the span of six years, the expansion will bring 777 new jobs to the Pulaski County area.

“This investment is a very important signal from us from the Volvo Trucks to the Pulaski, to the New River Valley area at large that we are very confident in how we work here, we are very grateful for the high quality workers that build these high quality products for us," said President of Volvo Trucks North America Peter Voorhoeve.

Volvo plans to expand their operation by 22 percent. ... “This is a huge, huge announcement not only for the New River Valley, but for rural Virginia," said 7th District Delegate Nick Rush. "We think this is the largest announcements in the history of rural Virginia and this solidifies the plant for the next 20 years.”

According to a press release from Governor Ralph Northam, the $400 million investment will create a new 350,000 square-foot building.

I love that whole area from there to Roanoke. There's VA Tech so you have a well-educated population; you're on 81 so you can get goods in and out; and it's just incredibly beautiful.
