The governor isn't ready to order residents to shelter in place, but Everett's mayor pretty much did

OLYMPIA — Gov. Jay Inslee said Friday he isn’t ready to order residents to stay in their homes, but he might go down that path if Washingtonians don’t make a greater commitment to blunting the spread of coronavirus by drastically reducing social interactions.

“We have made some progress, but it is not enough. We are still seeing people behaving as if this virus was not a mortal threat,” Inslee said at an afternoon news conference. “Everybody needs to change their behavior.”

Also on Friday evening, Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin issued a directive telling city residents and business owners to stay home, except for certain essential activities and work to provide essential business, government services or public infrastructure.

The directive allows for health and safety appointments as well as food and supply errands. It also allows walks and other outdoor activities with proper social distancing and caring for family, the elderly and vulnerable. It also applies to many businesses and industries.

He has to order a shut down. I work every day with employees all around me. I have no idea where they have been and likewise. Some of they act like nothing is wrong and congregate in groups of 3 or 4. What the fuck is wrong with these people?

Hello Jay, if you are listening, close the goddamn state down!
