CenturyLink Field considered as potential field hospital site

SEATTLE -- As the Coronavirus outbreak continues to spread across the region, federal officials are looking at the possibility of using CenturyLink field as a field hospital site.

A report on the U.S. Department of Defense website says about 300 Army hospital soldiers from Fort Carson, Colorado are being deployed to Seattle.

The Army chief of staff says soldiers are working with local authorities to do a survey at CenturyLink Field, as well as an unnamed state fairground site, but there has not been a final decision on the site of that field hospital.

It's likely that any field hospital placed there would not be treating COVID-19 patients, but other sick or injured people to free up room in the main hospitals for coronavirus cases.
