Looking to shop local on Small Business Saturday? Try this Seattle browser extension

It's no secret that 2020 has been a hard year for Seattle's small businesses. The Downtown Seattle Association reported over 180 street level businesses have closed permanently in the city since the beginning of the year.

And with the holiday season fast approaching, many local retailers are hoping the shopping rush will help them stay afloat until next year.

However, just like many other facets of life, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we shop, with one survey finding online shopping has increased 55.3% since March in the Evergreen State, benefiting larger companies and e-commerce platforms.

Luckily, a new Seattle-based browser tool is connecting residents to local businesses, allowing them to shop online in the comfort of their homes and pick up in-store.

Sook is a free Google Chrome shopping assistant that operates under the key belief that "You should root for David, not Goliath."
