Port Orchard restaurant 'That One Place' issued liquor license suspension after defying COVID-19 req
PORT ORCHARD — That One Place, a restaurant in Port Orchard that earlier this year violated state restrictions on indoor dining, was issued a suspension on its liquor license on Friday for allowing customers to eat inside despite the current COVID-19 restriction that only allows dining outdoors in Washington state.
The restaurant has 24 hours to comply, but if customers continue eating indoors the license will be suspended for up to 180 days, said Julie Graham, spokesperson for the Liquor and Cannabis Board. The restaurant would still be able to serve food, but alcohol could not be sold.
If the restaurant continues to not comply the Washington Department of Labor and Industries could get involved.
“We're hoping that they'll choose to be in compliance,” Graham said, “We know this is hard for all businesses, especially restaurants and bars and we understand that everyone's just trying to make a living, but we need to make sure that our licensees are following the state law and doing things the way that the current restrictions require.”
