New COVID-19 vaccination clinics for Seattle's most vulnerable

Seattle is implementing a new push to vaccinate people not currently covered under the federal government’s partnership with CVS and Walgreens, to reach long care populations and staff.

Instead of trying to get vulnerable people to a clinic or pharmacy, the city of Seattle is taking the clinic to them and even launching a new series of pop-ups.

They're doing it with a partnership between Seattle Fire and the Service Employees International Union 775, to vaccinate union caregivers and the senior adults they're taking care of.

“The Mobile Vaccination Team model was created to be flexible and to be able to deploy where vaccinations are needed most, whether that’s to a facility or to a pop-up clinic,” said Seattle Fire Chief Harold Scoggins. "By vaccinating older adults living in permanent supportive housing and affordable housing, and SEIU 775 home health care workers, we are prioritizing the most vulnerable population with our limited supply of vaccine."
