City of Seattle to receive 1,500 first doses, 1,000 second doses of COVID-19 vaccine

SEATTLE – The City of Seattle is getting 1,500 first doses and 1,000 second doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week, city officials announced Wednesday.

Officials say the Seattle Fire Department’s Mobile Vaccination Teams will vaccinate residents at five Seattle Housing Authority buildings, one new Adult Family Home, and Kawabe House.

The City is also partnering with several community-based and faith-based organizations to hold two pop-up vaccination clinics primarily focusing on vaccinating older Latino adults who live in the West Seattle and South Park neighborhoods.

In King County, Latino residents make up 24% of COVID-19 cases and 17% of hospitalizations despite making up 10% of the county’s population. The city says West Seattle, South Seattle, and Delridge have the lowest vaccination rates of people over 75 in all Seattle neighborhoods.
