More than 1 million fully vaccinated in Washington
The Washington State Department of Health announced Friday that 1 million people in the state have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and more than 3 million doses of the vaccine have been administered.
One million people - nearly 15% of the states population - have received either the two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or the one-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson).
These milestones showcase the hard work and commitment to vaccination happening across our state, said Dr. Umair A. Shah, Washingtons secretary of health. Vaccination is a critical tool we need to bring the COVID-19 pandemic to an end. This is a community effort and every single Washingtonian who receives a vaccine is helping us get closer to crossing the finish line.
Also this week, providers administered 3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Just under three weeks ago, Washington had passed the 2 million mark.
