What does fun mean to you? Maybe its going to a restaurant with friends. Catching the game on the weekend. Enjoying the sunshine at the beach. Whatever it is that youre looking for, Washingtons got it for you. In fact -- Washington ranks 7th in a study conducted by WalletHub examining the most fun states in the country.
Researchers compared all 50 states against two key categories: entertainment & recreation, and nightlife. From there, those two categories were further examined using 26 other metrics, 18 of which scores points for entertainment & recreation while the remaining eight went toward nightlife. These metrics include restaurants per capita, the average cost of beer/wine, the number of golf courses and country clubs, fitness centers, marinas, beach quality, music festivals, just to name a few. The total points possible in the entertainment & recreation category is 80, while nightlife can only get to 20.
These scores were weighted and calculated to find their exact rank. The higher the score, the more fun the state is to visit. Would you travel to one of these states? You may be surprised by some of the findings.

Plus it breaks the tradition of Ohio ranking somewhere in the middle -- e.g., 20th to 30th -- in pretty much every state rankings.
