Governor Inslee orders state employees get vaccinated

Governor Inslee just issued an order that all Washington state employees must be fully vaccinated by October 18th or be fired.

As a state employee I'm very excited to see this. A move in the right direction to getting us past this nightmare.

2. City of Seattle and King County to require this as well

Washington state employees must be fully vaccinated from Covid-19 by Oct. 18 or face termination, Gov. Jay Inslee announced during a news conference Monday.

In the joint conference, King County Executive Dow Constantine and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said county and city employees will also be required to get the vaccine.

Constantine said county employees would have to be vaccinated by mid-October, but mentioned more than 80% already were.

Inslee hinted last week that a mandate was coming for state employees, as vaccination rates have cooled down and cases surged due to the Delta variant. States like New York and California have already announced requirements for state employees.
