Many support Washington helping Afghan refugees after helping Vietnam refugees in 1970s
As many as 22,000 refugees from Afghanistan are expected to arrive in the U.S., and many of them will be heading here, to the Seattle-Tacoma area.
Washington state has a long history of helping refugees.
After the Fall of Saigon in 1975, a large number of refugees from Vietnam settled here in our state.
As thousands of people try to escape Afghanistan and Taliban control, many people in Washington state said we should step up and welcome Afghan refugees.
