King County vaccine mandate prompts tide of legal questions from firms, employers
SEATTLE -- In less than a week, King County employees will have to show proof that they have been vaccinated for COVID-19, a week before customers and patrons at restaurants, museums and fitness centers will be required to follow suit with proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test.
Local employment attorneys said they have been fielding several questions from businesses about vaccine mandates as they try to resolve confusion for small and large businesses.
Theyre trying to figure out which one applies and 'when do I have to comply,'" said Adam Pankratz, an employment lawyer at Ogletree Deakins in Seattle.
Mandates have put the onus of compliance on the employer, said Catherine Morisset, an employment attorney and partner at Fisher & Phillips in Seattle.
