Olympic peninsula. 4 inches of snow since yesterday, still coming down. Winds are starting, though mild so far. We didn't lose power last night though a good portion of others nearby did. We've a wood stove, candles and a bunch of solar powered lamps.
We may take in a neighbor over the next couple days, to keep warm.
Our dog lost a couple balls in the snow already, being a sight not scent tracker.
So far so good.

(8,308 posts)Snowed and snowed. Finally stopped about an hour ago and the sun came out. Along with 30 mph winds! Everything I shoveled got covered again. This is not normal for high desert in southern Idaho.

(15,084 posts)It's been snowing for the better part of three days now. It did stop so we could go out for Christmas Eve dinner.
The problem is that we need to make three trips to the airport in the next three days. And two of those trips are for 5 am flights. Ugh.
Time to get the snow shovel out again.
This is unusual for us.

(18,672 posts)I had to warm up all the hummingbird feeders which were partially frozen with fresh, slightly more concentrated syrup. Currently Im watching birds at the backyard feeders as the snow is steadily falling. I have a huge driveway which I partially shoveled earlier but gave up after realizing the snow is not done falling by a long shot. In the meantime my tiny dogs have been eating snow and chasing squirrels out of the yard. The temperature is slowly dropping.

(22,114 posts)You can't complain for we haven't really had any serious winter weather yet here (a couple of hard freezes), so that's good. I did have one friend who complained about having no snow (wanted a white Xmas), but I think I can safely say the majority of us here in STLMO don't want any snow or ice (the last two times we had ice (last several weeks) there were thousands of accidents). People still drive too fast when icy conditions are around.
The wood stove, candles, and such sound very smart and you're so nice to offer shelter to those in need. Be safe!!

(58,648 posts)has slowed down for a bit, it seems. But it looks like I'll be snowed in a couple of days looking at the forecast.

(20,577 posts)Still snowing and the paper said to expect 6 inches more. I was reading the NOAA weather the last few days and it said to expect less than 1/2 inch!!

(10,870 posts)And still falling. Been to town already, bought the special after Christmas decorations that Mrs RC wanted at half off. Roads were lightly traveled, easy going when you have 4wd
