KIRKLAND, Wash. Parents in Kirkland are suing the city and King County, saying the plans for a homeless shelter at a La Quinta Inn ignored state and local laws.
The La Quinta Inn is off SR520 in south Kirkland and is supposed to be part of King Countys ongoing Health through Housing initiative.
This hotel would have 121 units and is funded through revenue from the 1/10th of a cent sales tax.
Parent group Keep Kids Safe claims the proposed shelter is steps away from schools and daycare facilities.
