Heavy smoke from wildfires continues to reduce air quality in Seattle and Western Washington.
The poor air quality landed Seattle the fifth spot for the worst air quality in the world, according to IQAirs air quality and pollution city ranking, as of 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The cities that ranked above Seattle are Delhi, India, at #4; Vancouver British Columbia, Canada, at #3; Chengdu, China, at #2; and Lahore, Pakistan, at #1.
Cities that have better air quality than Seattle at that time include Dhaka, Bangladesh, Hanoi, Vietnam, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Beijing, China.

Vancouver, too? I was born there and lived in West Vancouver looking across Burrard Inlet at Lionsgate Bridge and the city skyline behind Stanley Park. On clear days you could see Vancouver Island in the far distance from our house on the slope of Hollyburn Mountain.
It is hard to imagine both beautiful cities being in the world's worst for air quality right now. Shocking,
