Patty Murray's double-digit lead over Tiffany Smiley continues as October voting begins

Voters in Washington State appear poised to once again return veteran Democratic incumbent Patty Murray to the United States Senate, a statewide survey conducted this week for the Northwest Progressive Institute confirms.

Asked about their preferences in this year’s Senate race from October 19th-20th, 52% of 782 likely 2022 Washington State voters said they planned to vote for Murray. 42% said they planned to vote for Republican challenger Tiffany Smiley.

6% were not sure.

This finding demonstrates that Murray continues to enjoy a double-digit lead over Smiley despite a recent torrent of ads from Smiley’s campaign falsely denouncing her as a do-nothing senator who hasn’t accomplished anything — a ridiculous characterization that drew a rebuke from The Seattle Times editorial board.

Smiley comes off as a catty high school mean girl. No one who's an adult can take that shit seriously.

The lazy-man’s attack strategy. They usually don’t bother to list any specifics. It’s a quick-&-dirty smear line just to throw mud.

I wanna see specifics. Where’s the beef?

I'm so sick of Tiffany's adverts on the TV, pure bullshit. I'll be so happy when election season is over.

6. I'm just as sick of the Christine Drazan commercials

Good Grief!!! She’s almost literally carpet-bombed the airwaves here in Oregon with her commercials!
That chirpy little mouse voice, the constant smile, and the “don’t worry, I’m HARMLESS!” messaging. while she relentlessly attacks Democrat Tina Kotek.

I’m afraid she’s gonna win this, and that pisses me off. And she seems to have a dream opponent in Kotek, who lends the impression that either she assumes she’s already got this in the bag so she doesn’t have to try hard, or she’s got the ABSOLUTE WORST campaign manager who ever walked the earth. The ratio of campaign commercials sometimes feels almost literally like 60 to one. Drazan is all over the media. You can barely find ANYTHING promoting Kotek. What’s the average not-that-plugged-in/not-paying-attention gonna do?

Btw, my autocorrect kept trying to change “Drazan” to “Dramamine”.

We got our ballots on Thursday and that same evening we turned them in, all fully completed. For all the good that’ll do. I’m not optimistic.

7. You're right. That is the lazy-man attack strategy.

What they mean is their opponent doesn't engage in splashy, showy antics that get attention, but do nothing for the legislative process. Instead, people like Patty Murray work hard on the nuts-and-bolts issues of governing that don't make it to prime-time news, but instead, keep the country functioning.

I'm so tired of these hammerheads spewing "I'm not a career politician" when instead they should be saying "I'm an incompetent idiot who doesn't know anything about governing, and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near public office."

Then how can we be sure they’ll know what to do to promote THE GREATER GOOD if they get elected?

Seems to me the “I’m not a career politician” crowd is mainly in it for the access to YOUR money and YOUR rights and YOUR future. And NOT what will honestly and legitimately protects and preserves those things.

Sorry. I woke up in asshole-mood this morning. And I’m just NOT in the mood to be patient anymore.

Frustrated as all hell.
