Support Seattle port truck drivers 2/13
Have you heard? Seattle port truck drivers are organizing and standing up to corporate trucking firms to demand fairness and safety! They need our support, and what better way to start your week (and day) off than with a large cup of social justice!?! This Monday, February 13th, join Sage and partners at the Spokane St. Bridge Fishing Area at 9am.
The rally will take place just east of the Spokane St. Bridge. The site is located near the intersection of SW Spokane St and SW Manning St under the West Seattle Bridge. Parking is limited. Street parking is available under the viaduct on E Marginal Way or in pay lots on 1st Ave S. Carpooling is highly encouraged.
Bus routes serving the area include 125, #122, #132, #21, or #22 from Downtown Seattle.
There will also be a town hall meeting this Saturday from 2-4pm at 14675 Interurban Ave South, Tukwila, WA. This meeting will start a conversation between elected officials and port truck drivers; one that will provide insight into the broken port trucking industry and changes that are necessary. The conversation will be hosted by King County Councilman Joe McDermott and Port Comissioner Rob Holland.
