Related: About this forumSanders is Rocking The Dem Base heading in to the WA State Caucus!!!!
When 2/3 of the attendees in a packed room at our caucus orientation training raised their hands for Sanders in a straw poll, I knew for sure the East side of the state was going to go strong for him on the 26th. And those attendees were Dems-not Independents-not Repubs-DEMS!
We're headed for a potential Sanders home run streak of states. Keep phonebanking in to our state y'all and we'll bring it on home for all of us!

ReallyIAmAnOptimist
(357 posts)...in WA is that you can't vote in the GOP primary (in May) if you participated in the Dem caucus. "Closed" caucuses/primaries only allow participation of registered Dems/Repubs. We do have a loyalty declaration on the form, but that is basically fluff.
LisaM
(27,805 posts)I wouldn't call it fluff.

(40,656 posts)I AM FUCKING PISSED! Nothing like being told about your state from someone who has never been here. Apparently we aren't diverse enough to suit their tastes. GO, WASHINGTON! GO, ALASKA!
I may have to take a walk to cool off.

(32,886 posts)I alerted on the results so that admins can see that someone did not vote to hide something that should have been an obvious slam dunk:
On Fri Mar 18, 2016, 01:50 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
Stop backing Shillary!!!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1082&pid=5066
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
'Shillary"? A criminal? For pity's sake!
JURY RESULTS
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Mar 18, 2016, 02:02 PM, and the Jury voted 6-1 to HIDE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: She's under investigation from the FBI. Nothing has been proven yet. Until that happens, calling her a criminal is unwarranted.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This post is over the top - for clarity, though I support Clinton, I would vote the same way if this was said of Sanders. You just don't post this kind of stuff aout our candidates. This vindictiveness on both sides has to stop.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: That was the easiest decision to make.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: While calling Clinton Shillary and a criminal isn't very cool, it's not unheard of on DU and certainly is on par with some of the vitriol I read directed towards Sanders. I'd be more swayed to hide it as an off-topic response for the post, but that's being policed by a member in the thread.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(2,122 posts)who doesn't agree with you? Nice job handing over your integrity. Admitting that your actual intention of the alert was "so that admins can see that someone did not vote to hide something" is flagrant alert abuse. I wonder how many more times you have alerted people and for what cause?
Admins should take note of this action. I'm considering alerting this myself, but would like input from others first.
stevenleser
(32,886 posts)By any reasonable DU standards, it should have been an easy vote to hide and anyone not voting to hide should be considered as unable or unwilling to uphold DU standards.
If you object to me alerting on the alert on those grounds, take it up with Skinner or EarlG.

(5,306 posts)unfortunately for him Hillary should score a blow out victory in AZ and really not lose much ground, if any, in the delegate count.
Playing catch-up is a bitch.
Aquavit
(488 posts)Not sure that's necessarily a given for Hillary at this point. I saw somewhere on the interwebs today that Secretary Clinton's campaign is even thinking they may lose AZ, but I can't find the source for that info right at the moment.
FreedomRain
(413 posts)based on the local reports, but based on gut feeling I think 60-40 Sanders is quite possible.

(488 posts)But will anyone in the corporate media say one word about a 20 point win and/or running the table this week?

(497 posts)I had no idea about how to do this...where to go....I have been googling, asking, downloading apps....only just now did I discover:
http://www.wa-democrats.org/page/2016-democratic-caucuses
so I have pre-registered and I will caucus on 3/26 for sanders
but sheesh - we need to help people figure this out....its not immediately obvious or easily available unless you know where to go to look....
pnwmom
(108,977 posts)and Hillary would still be ahead by 40 delegates.
But that ain't gonna happen. Obama beat Hillary by a total of 60 delegates in these upcoming northern and western states, and Bernie will be lucky if he matches Obama's numbers -- which would reduce her lead from 320 delegates to 260.

Sanders is done. Hillary Clinton's lead is 3x Obama's largest in 2008. His campaign is on life support, but hey, until he quits then keep at it.

(25,699 posts)And even if we fail, we're carving out that "place at the table." Contrary to the wishes of some, we're not going to be relegated to being wait staff at the convention. if absolutely nothing else we are showing ourselves - and everyone else, that the left of the party ARE out there, and now we know about each other. it doesn't end with Sanders, no matter the outcome.
Thank you for your applause

(2,535 posts)Hey Hon I hope we can meet up sometimes. I have been following you for a long time and really love what you post. I notice you post a great deal of poverty stuff and I am a long time activist for low income people here. I am a member of the Lake City Homeless Coalition working on affordable housing issues as well as the board member of P.O.W.E.R., (http:www.mamapower.org) which works on our (very tattered) safety net as well as on the council of Lake City Christian Disciples of Christ church and we work with the North Help Line on hunger and services for low income families, vets, homeless adults, and individuals. I also support multi-faith issues, but that is another story to tell later if you want to know, lol. PM me if you want to know more and/or meet me sometime.
Sincerely, your sister in fighting the power,
