Dori Monson loses it again: Seattle snowstorm panic shopping a result of socialism

I saw the people in the ridiculously long lines at Albertson’s Friday morning. There is a huge factor why everyone is in a tizzy over some snow.

This is a Seattle issue. Socialism brings a lack of self-sufficiency. We have so many people who have decided to rely on government for every aspect of their lives. “Government will provide me the wage I need, they’ll provide me free community college, they’ll take stuff from the guy who is more successful and give it to me because I deserve it.”

Then when we get a little snow, those people who rely on government for everything in their life have to be self-sufficient for a day or two. They can’t handle it.

What is going to happen if the Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake hits, and infrastructure is down for weeks? People will have to learn to be the tiniest bit self-sufficient. You’ve got to prepare and plan and have enough groceries in your house for weeks. But I don’t have much hope for people who rely on other entities for their alpha and omega.

Is this idiot going senile? (He's younger than me FWIW). People in Western Washington have always freaked out about the snow because we rarely get much of it.

people are being self-sufficient because they know the government won't help them?

the Fred Meyer store in Redmond (WA) had almost no fresh fruits or vegetables left. The Redmond Trader Joe's had no eggs, little dairy, little fresh fruits or vegetables. The stores looked like the locusts had been there before me.

This explains a lot about why we keep putting off the demise of capitalism.

Over the top...

The cognitive dissonance that is in full bloom is really amazing. I always enjoy talking to people who have this mind set.

The Dunning-Kruger kind that doesn't recognise anything more intelligent than itself because it lacks any special insight at all with which to do so.

He was a moron in the '80ies as the sports kid on KING1090 as well, constantly harping on how much he hated soccer.

Albertsons last night, it was packed.
Washington residents KNOW how
unprepared we are for snow and ice and it has
nothing to do with socialism.

That's not a surprise to anyone in Seattle. At least it shouldn't be. I went to an Albertsons yesterday and saw some empty shelves. BFD. The worst part is that they ran out of bacon. BACON FOR GOD'S SAKE!
I have my gas cans filled up and the generator is ready to go. There is half a cow in my deep freeze, and my wine cellar is still stocked. Let it snow.
