ABC: Wisconsin Governor Fights Off New Scrutiny of ‘Secret’ Email Account Controversy

Walker is great at evading questions. Note that he speaks in present tense when asked about the email accounts (vs past tense). The emails made national news in a few newspapers but seems to be fizzling except for msnbc.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a potential Republican candidate for the 2016 presidential election, fought off questions today surrounding thousands of emails unsealed earlier this week that pertained to a probe examining his administration as Milwaukee County Executive.
.....

While he refused to directly answer whether he ever knowingly utilized a secret wireless Internet router installed in the office with the apparent intent to hide communications from public access, the rising GOP star insisted that he does not mix political work with official business.

“I have an official account that I use for official business and I have a separate account that I use for political business,” Walker said. “I don’t mix the two.”

Asked whether he personally knew about the secret email system, Walker stressed that the investigation ended last March and he was cleared by a Democratic district attorney.

“I probably am one of the most scrutinized elected officials in the country,” Walker said......

It's hard to believe its been 3 years since Spring 2011 when we protested in Madison

100,000 people clogging the capital. Cold weather-- singing in the capital, banging drums. I will never forget it

Walker is a total tool of the Kochs ---who are presently attacking Burke with 1 1/2 million dollars of negative TV ads 10 months ahead of the election

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker under fire in campaign finance probe

1

MADISON, Wis.

Newly released records show that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's campaign partnered with a Republican lieutenant governor candidate in 2010 to tap wealthy donors who had already given all they could to Walker, a move designed to bolster their potential ticket...

Democrats are hoping Walker could be sunk by the investigation, which has shadowed him for years. But it was unsuccessfully used against him in his 2010 run for governor and recall attempts in 2012 - and it hasn't hurt his fundraising ability. That gubernatorial race broke state spending records at $36 million, and the recall hit $81 million, largely because state laws limiting donations don't apply until a recall election is officially set. That allowed Walker to collect checks as large as $500,000 from backers.

The newly released records show how Walker's campaign was working closely with Republican lieutenant governor candidate Brett Davis' campaign to milk all they could out of Walker's supporters during his first run for governor, in 2010. The plan eventually fell apart because Davis lost in the primary election. Walker at the time was the Milwaukee County executive.

In one February 2010 email with a subject line of "Damn it," Walker's deputy chief of staff in his Milwaukee County office demands that Walker's campaign manager, Keith Gilkes, provide her with a list of people who had maxed out their donations to Walker.

Gov. Scott Walker needs to talk. He should hold a news conference to explain how much he knew about a secret email system as Milwaukee County executive. And he needs to let reporters ask as many questions as they want.

Why wouldn't the governor want to clear up questions raised by the release Wednesday of 27,000 pages of emails related to a John Doe investigation into links between his county government staff and his gubernatorial campaign staff in 2010? State law bars public employees from working for political parties and campaigns while being paid by taxpayers to provide government services.

Throughout the secret investigation, as the Journal Sentinel reported, Walker maintained that he had zero tolerance for government employees doing campaign work while on the taxpayer clock. But the records detail almost daily interactions between his top county and campaign staffers....
