Over $8 Million to Fund Nationwide Web of Front Groups Promoting Law That Cuts Wages and Benefits, Public Education Funding, Healthcare Coverage
MADISON, Wis. Late last week, while traveling out of state, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker dropped his pre-November 2014 election charade of opposition to a right to work law that could cut the average Wisconsin familys wages by over $5,000 per year. One Wisconsin Nows research of the Milwaukee-based Bradley Foundation, headed by Gov. Walkers campaign co-chair, reveals the stage has been set for Walkers latest assault on Wisconsins middle class for his personal political benefit with a well-financed propaganda campaign utilizing a nationwide web of front groups.
Once again we see the Wisconsin Money Badger Michael Grebe and his Bradley Foundation paving the way for Gov. Walkers right-wing, Tea Party agenda with a massive propaganda campaign, said One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross. This time its the wrong for Wisconsin right to work law that cuts wages and benefits not just for union members but all Wisconsin workers.
According to One Wisconsin Nows review of federal tax records, the Bradley Foundation doled out over $8 million in 2012 and 2013, the latest years for which information available, to support the operations of a web of nearly three dozen groups promoting right to work laws and radical privatization policies that empower the wealthy and corporate CEOs at the expense of the middle class. The Bradley Foundation, having nearly half a billion dollars in assets, regularly hands out $30-40 million a year, making it perhaps the largest right wing funding foundation in America.
Groups operating in Wisconsin, including the MacIver Institute, the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, Media Trackers and the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce Foundation, took in excess of $2.9 million.
Groups operating in other Midwestern states and nationally benefitted from Grebe and the Bradley Foundations largesse. Right-wing policy shops, the American Legislative Exchange Council and the State Policy Network, took in over $200,000 in 2011 and 2012. Nearly $500,000 went to the virulently anti-organized labor Center for Union Facts and the National Right to Work Legal Defense Fund.
Bradley also sent $140,000 to the notorious Koch brothers aligned Americans for Prosperity Foundation that partnered with the Wisconsin MacIver Institute to run a multi-million dollar ad campaign that declared "it's working" in relation to the polices enacted by Gov. Walker resulting in Wisconsin having among the worst records in job creation and wage growth in the nation.

(4,949 posts)Somehow this basic info needs to get disseminated. Yes the Franklin polls were, I believe, orchestrated & made public to make it seem as if the elections could tip either way. That way a Wanker tweaked election would be more believable and less subject to recount. I think the 1% has quite a system for tipping elections in their favour and several methods of doing it--ready to put into the process at any given moment.

"Command Central Makes Its MoveA Shady Deal With WI County Clerks
Last September, Election Integrity investigators discovered that unbeknownst to average citizens of Wisconsin, Command Central sent those 46 districts an offer: trade out your old Optech Insight Scanner for two DRE Touch Screen models, at no charge. The Optech machine is the one that paper ballots are fed through to read and register the votes.
"While these machines are also susceptible to hacking (see Rep. Pridemore explain how to game the machine) in the case of a recount, it is possible to physically monitor the paper ballots as they are fed through the machine to see if they match the machine totals.
Edge Touchscreen Voting Machine. Ask for a paper ballot instead of voting on one of these.
Edge Touchscreen Voting Machine. Ask for a paper ballot instead of voting on one of these.
With DRE Touch Screens, however, ones vote could be flipped and one would never know because there is no receipt or paper trail voters receive to confirm their vote was counted as voted. All that is left is a paper tape that shows votes and vote totals. If the machine is hacked, those totals have no other verifiable trail to confirm the results.
And yet according to John Washburn, this swap-out two-for-one offer violates the statutes issued by the GAB for State approved system as described on the Government Accountability Boards website that requires the inclusion of an Optech Insight Scanner.
On January 13, 2012, Washburn emailed the GAB about this situation. When he did not receive an answer, he submitted an Open Records request to the GAB, with no reply. On May 2, he submitted another, again to no response. On May 4, he turned the case over to Dane County Attorney, and on May 14 he kicked it up to the Department of Justice."
So this information leads me to believe that most of Wisconsin is not on board with what is being rolled out. I do think this information shows more people know what is going on and are voting with the Choir-hence all the tricks.
