Nash column: Our embarrassing governor
Well, this is embarrassing. Now the whole country knows our governor is clueless.

Recently, some of my out-of-state friends called after they saw him interviewed and asked how he got elected three times. Good question.
The only way I can explain it is to look back to when he wasnt running for president, at least not publicly. When I did that, I realized we really didnt hear or see much of him before he was first elected. Afterward, he didnt meet with voters and was rarely available to the media. When he was, he merely recited the same rigid script or, instead of directly responding, hed rely on his spokeswoman, who undoubtedly was ordered to issue statements without actually answering questions. So, most people didnt really know much about his stances.
He also refused to meet with constituents. Except for fundraisers with Republican donors, the only places he appeared were at private companies whose owners supported him. And then, only those with invitations were allowed to attend.
Unlike President Nixon, who had the courage to meet with Vietnam War protesters, he was nowhere to be seen during the rallies. Instead of standing up to the protesters, as he brags everywhere he goes, he scurried through a tunnel to enter and leave the Capitol building. He never met with union leaders, school officials, teachers, or other public employees to work with them and find solutions to the budget problems. His authoritarian nature obviously doesnt allow for discussion or compromise.
John Torinus, former long-time CEO of Wisconsin-based Serigraph, Inc. told Wisconsin Public Radio in March that Walker is showing a pattern of government by surprise. Its likely Walker avoids opening discussions of his policies because he knows he has no leadership or negotiating skills.
He also lies. ................

(2,672 posts)1. It's obvious he had help stealing the election,
three times. Wisconsin voters aren't stupid to elect a dunce like Walker.
The recall election was stolen as well.

Don't forget about the Supreme Court election that was stolen as well. (I believe the name Kathy Nicklaus comes to mind.)

That's all there is to it. He's probably the biggest empty suit since Reagan. He scares the hell out of me, too.
