Who's doing work helping people get registered & IDs?

I want to hook up with such a group in WI if it exists - is either campaign doing this in any organized fashion? Any nonpartisan groups?

Have been taking a break since recall - time to get active again. At this point whether its BC or HRC I honestly don't give a fig - just know that it can NOT be a republican.... and my concern is that the voter suppression that's been done here may actually work in their favor.

WEVE SEEN what happens in WI when Rs control all branches of govt - legislative, executive and judicial. The political reality is now that they will push thru the most radical agenda without any discussion or compromise, without any hesitation whatsoever. If this happens on the national scale we're done for.

About IDs, contact Citizen Action and they can give you information on the woman who runs that project in Milwaukee and perhaps projects elsewhere, since they are a statewide organization. http://www.citizenactionwi.org/contact

The League of Women Voters is active with registration. And in Milwaukee there is a group called Supermarket Legends that has done a lot of registration (over 500 registered at UWM recently, for example). https://www.facebook.com/supermarketlegends

Unfortunately, the legislature is on track to pass a law taking away the function of SRDs (special registration deputies) because of starting online voter registration through the DMV (which will cover only people who have a driver's license or state ID). This is a naked move to end voter registration in the community for the people who need it most. It wouldn't take effect until at least July, and there are ways around it, but frankly it stinks. However, we can't give up, can we?
