http://www.bluecheddar.net/?p=20875Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus, widely criticized over the conduct of elections in her county, announced Saturday she has decided not to seek re-election in November.
But the embattled clerk said in a prepared statement that she would not relinquish any authority or responsibility for upcoming elections through the end of her term because I am the Waukesha County constitutional officer charged with the responsibility of elections.
After problems in the election earlier this month, Nickolaus reportedly agreed under pressure from County Executive Dan Vrakas to cede election responsibilities to her deputy for the upcoming recall races.
Her campaign manager said Saturday she never ever agreed to hand over the responsibility given to her constitutionally as clerk to administer the elections. Kathy is still in charge, said the manager, Dan Hunt, adding Nickolaus was unavailable for comment.

(16,350 posts)How come if I did what she did, with a Dem bias, I'd be in jail?

(53,661 posts)Something about temporarily allowing someone to do her duties, not resigning. Naturally, she's going to milk the state for whatever she can, just like the rest of the Walkerscum.
So you guys had better watch those ballots very carefully in the upcoming recall and elections. Thanks for keeping us up to date in WI. You are doing the hard work on the ground, that gets so little credit these days, but makes things better for all of us.

There's still some cheating to be done...

(50,912 posts)In addition, it seems really weird that she says she is not going to run for re-election. If that is the case, then why does she have a campaign manager?

(4,949 posts)Waukesha's political machine is def controlled by "the good 'ol boys".
There are some wonderful Peeps in Waukesha but they do not share
in political or governmental power to any degree.
And the "shenanigans" are manifested in some highly unusual ways.
This is seen in Waukesha's history so yes we should have very little trust
in their process.
