Falk and co. have spent a lot of time selling the idea that Barrett is no better than Walker because of his strong arming unions into concessions.

Some OL folks may not turn out in June because of the contentious primary.

My guess is very few people over the last year have changed their opinion on the importance of that.

It wasn't about which dem when a million people signed the petition for recall.

I don't think it's really about which dem now.

A couple of the races are close, and one is still showing zeroes. (That's not near Waukesha is it? ) It'd be nice to go to bed knowing the Rethug shenanigans have also been put to bed.

Edit to add:

The Repukes are afraid of Barret & will try to poison the cohesiveness of the Dems. If the Dems stick together
they will have a chance of defeating Wanker. They are well aware of this. We must come together!!!

I don't think any of those 930,000 who signed recall papers will be so disappointed with Tom that they won't vote.

It will be close though. Thanks for doing your part.

19. Should we be concerned that
Tue May 8, 2012, 10:36 PM
May 2012

Should we be concerned that Walker got more votes than all the Dem candidates put together?

Approximately 330K vs. 314K?

(9:30PM numbers. It ought to change by morning.)

I'm not sure. On one hand, that may just about be the top end of Walker's support, as AM radio, et. al. have been whipping their mob into a frenzied pack of beasts. I mean every old angry rethug in Greendale was out voting today. While on the other hand, I know a lot of Dems who skipped the primary since their plan is to vote for whoever wins anyways. Also, there's 9K of Arthur Kohl Riggs support that was probably (D) voting generally, bringing the D total up to around 323K. I hope that explains the difference. Maybe also the fact that Senate primaries were in some pretty red districts? If some blue districts had senate primaries would that shift it? I mean, in my little heart I had hoped that everyone who signed the recall petition would vote in the primaries and we'd see like twice as many D votes as R votes cast. But alas, as I write this edit, the gap is widening in Walkers favor. PUKE. But, back to the other hand, a million people DID sign the petition. If the primary has a low turnout, so be it, they ought to vote in the general, right?

So I don't know whether to be concerned or not. But I think I should be. I mean even in a primary he wasn't really opposed in, Walker was getting more voters to the polls than the Dem candidates altogether. That scares the crap out of me. As my doomed-to-be-unrequited-love Rachel Maddow says: Talk me down!

Until the numbers are available to look at tomorrow we won't know how the senate recalls went.

There were fake dems running and they got 20% and better of the votes in their districts. The r's numbers for Walker include those votes.

The GAB was looking for 30-35% of voters to vote today...we can check all this tomorrow.

23. Well, it looks like the nighttime numbers helped a bit
Wed May 9, 2012, 08:53 AM
May 2012

Looks like the nighttime numbers helped a bit. Overall it looks like approximately:

(D) 670,000 vs (Walker) 626,000

And that's leaving the Arthur Kohl-Riggs votes out. If you add those to the not-Walker side you're up to

690,000 Walker-must-go votes vs. 626,000 Stand-with-Walker votes.

So that's got me cheered this morning. Plus it looks like all the fakers lost. So Hurrah! And good luck to all of our primary winners! Here's to Governor Barrett and Lt. Gov. Mitchell in four more weeks!
