2. I just saw the ad...Clarke claims 911 call can't be counted on to protect the public
Fri Jan 25, 2013, 08:17 PM
Jan 2013

Clarke supports each and every one of the NRA positions, and has posted comments on a tea-party website.

Walker, the tea-party legislature and now it seems the Milw County Sheriff's office are all lined up the NRA to make sure that even fewer mentally ill have access to guns.

But no one is stepping up to say that the gun-denied mentally ill will get special protection during the current emergency during which the Sheriff says law enforcement can't protect county residents.

4. Milwaukee County Sheriff is the only race where I vote Republican

Because David Clarke is a Republican pretending to be a Dem. The only reason he's a Democrat is because black Democrats in Milwaukee typically hold on to their seats. Otherwise, he has more in common with Scott Walker and the AM radio Republicans like Sykes and Belling. And encouraging people to take the law into their own hands because the department he oversees is inept is very irresponsible, especially in a city with a major gun problem, and one in which police officers have even been shot.

What an odd choice of words. Buy a gun and get in the game? I don't want to play that game, whatever it is.

7. If he wasn't such a jack-booted creep, he could be comic relief.

One of the three stock characters of ancient Greek comedy:

Alazôn Ancient Greek: ἀλαζών... the comedy comes from the ironic distance between this character's perception of his own merits and worth, and his actual relationship to the rest of the cast. The Miles Gloriosus (braggert soldier) variant of this is... occasionally applied in a contemporary context to refer to a posturing and self-deceiving boaster or bully.

9. Said in other threads - but Sheriff Clarke is more interested in having his officers

write speeding tickets (particularly where the speed limit changes from 65 to 55 or 65 to 50) than actual public safety. Hell, I haven't even seen an officer parked near Marquette University busting people who don't stop for pedestrians in crosswalks (far more dangerous than someone going 67mph on the freeway).
