View of the econsystem immediately downstream from Gogebic Taconite’s proposed mine

From Rep. Tod Ohnstad (D-Kenosha): Aerial view of the econsystem immediately downstream from Gogebic Taconite’s proposed mine in northern Wisconsin.

Wisconsin, you're mine, says Christopher Cline,
mining mogul from Florida, and a mega yacht fan
"The way the Republicans have rushed this bill through the committee process left me no choice but to vote against it,” said Rep. Ohnstad. "We would have more hearings of the Kenosha City Council about whether to put up a new stop sign!"

As for Gogebic Taconite's Christopher Cline: You really think I give a shit, I live in Palm Beach!

Cline is like locusts.
He buys up the politicians for sale; his companies come in, consume all the natural resources; and then they leave a wasteland.

How can the wealthy do this to us? How can so few care? Thanks for posting, hue.

for more than 60 years. I have wonderful memories of little expeditions into the Penokee Range with my dad and uncle. I know the people up there. (BTW, Ashland County has a fairly large Finnish population and has traditionally voted Democratic, but mostly only because the Finns had no socialists to vote for.)

I have also seen the scars left on the Minnesota Iron Ranges by the brutal extractive industries.

I think this outrage hurts me more than anything else the Walker Republicans have done, and they have done many evil things.

To think that there was a time when I didn't think I would outlast the Penokee Range!

rape! They only want the billions they will reap from raping our pristine land! There will actually be very few jobs if any (if they import workers from Canada, Minnesota or even China). There will be ZERO retirement funds or benefits, healthcare etc. They don't care how they get our raw commodities. They come in, take & leave.

b/c they are using all chinese miners. It's in the contract. No CN employees for like 5 years, conjecture is that it means by then the imported miners will be citizens...
