Hey, Squat, the voices in your head aren't god.

I present for your reading eyes an excerpt from Scott Walkers upcoming book which I have lifted from an article by Weigel in Slate. In this passage, Walker is describing how God spoke to him after he fell for Ian Murphys prank David Koch call:
Only later did I realize that God had a plan for me with that episode, writes Walker. After his press conference, he picked up his daily devotional and saw the title for Feb. 23: The power of humility, the burden of pride.
I looked up and said, I hear you, Lord, writes Walker. God was sending me a clear message to not do things for personal glory or fame. It was a turning point that helped me in future challenges, helped me stay focused on the people I was elected to serve, and reminded me of Gods abundant grace and the paramount need to stay humble.
[this next paragraph is from Weigel]
Providence gets a starring role in Walkers memoir. Where he travels, ordinary citizens tell him to buck up. An airport worker who hands him a piece of paper reading Isaiah 54:17, which Walker quickly checks on his phone: No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. A floor manager for a TV show confides to Walker that she and her kids got down on their knees every night and prayed for me and my family.
So what do you think: Pandering to the Evangelicals or just fucking nuts?

(4,949 posts)Wanker's statement:
God was sending me a clear message to not do things for personal glory or fame is ironic because it cites humility as an objective but the fact that God is talking with him and giving him a "job" to do, "stay focused on the people I was elected to serve", implies that he along with Evangelical nutters who can relate to this jargon are the CHOSEN ONES!!

(769 posts)Nuts itself wouldn't be appreciated to have any connection to Scott Walker. Nuts would rather for us to say that Scott is much more lunatic than ever. He is smart man and he know that using God's name to manipulate religiously people for their religion-based votes are much more easier than to campaign for their constitutionally-right to votes.

(2,577 posts)Huh. He always encourages them to continue lying, stealing, and bullying. He never, never whispers anything Jesus was famous for saying like "whatever you do for the least of these" or "love one another."
Just AMAZING, I tell you. Jesus is up in heaven directing a lot of greedy, despicable white men to be greedy and despicable in his service.
