Tim Hortons customers pay it forward — for three hours

I heard this on the news this morning, how fun for those Timmy's workers.

One customer started the chain at the Tim Hortons at Beaverhill Boulevard last Friday when they paid for the order of the customer behind them in the drive-thru, reported CBC News. That small act of Christmas cheer set off a chain of 228 customers who kept picking up the tab for the next customer, lasting a total of about three hours.

Manager Troy Thompson said the energy was infectious among staff and customers.

“They were calling out the numbers — ‘We’re at 162’ — and they made a really big deal of it,” he told CBC. “I think that’s what helped keep it going because nobody wanted to be the one who broke that streak.”

The streak finally ended when one man chose not to pay for the three coffees ordered by the next person. His four coffees had been paid for by the customer ahead of him.

A bunch of people buying each other coffee and doughnuts is nice idea. Giving to people who actually need it is a mitzvah!

I have ever tasted. It tasted like a combination of cough syrup and formaldehyde. I ordered it without yogurt because I am sensitive to dairy, so maybe it's better with. I had to stop off at a Rite Aid and buy a diet Vernors to get the taste out of my mouth. BTW, Rite Aid donates to more Democrats than Republicans, unlike most big chains.

A few years ago. Seems almost as if there was no rhyme or reason...in my old town, they opened two on the same road, barely a mile apart. They're both banks now. I haven't seen a Tim Horton's in these parts in years.

We love our Tim's for drinking the coffee and meeting each up with each other. You can buy the coffee in cans in grocery stores too. I love Tim Horton commercials. They are good feeling of being Canadian. I am thankful to live in our great caring country. We believe we really all are on this boat together.

although I've had issues recently...but other than coffee, Tim's food is, um, hit and miss at best, LOL. I know those smoothies you speak of, I had one this summer and thought, omg, it tastes like chemical!

However, Tim Horton's is such a huge part of Canadian culture, and every new Tim's that pops up has line ups of cars circling around it within days, I can't see it going anywhere anytime soon. Heck, they have one in my university - not even on the main campus! And there's always a line up. Their steeped tea is my favorite. Yum. Better than their coffee.

He voted for Romney after Ron Paul withdrew but hated having to do it. He went home, got on his computer and told FreeRepublic.com all about the socialist scheme he just broke up.
