Tea Party Tories

Just came across this, from September but still relevant:

Tories as such are bad enough; but the likes of Nadine Dorries and Philip Davies are truly dangerous; not to mention Javid (of whom I'd previously been mercifully unaware) with his desire to emulate some of the most damaging Congressional practices on economic decision-making. In the past, despite the close friendship between Maggie 'n Ronnie, there didn't seem to be so many political links between Tories and Republicans: Tories, including Tony Blair, simply tended to be very pro-American, whichever party was in power. But there have been IMO increasing links between some Tories and Republicans during the last few years, and, given the particularly right-wing nature of Republicans, this is worrying.
