So he's still young in my mind's eye and I was mildly surprised he was 74 already.

Enjoyed the first few seasons of New Tricks too, though.

Turns out it was Kay Burley who got it wrong first:

Kay Burley was left red-faced after accidentally paying tribute to "Pete Waterman" following the death of Dennis Waterman.

Minder and The Sweeney star Dennis passed away on Sunday at his home in Spain at the age of 74.

Kay, 61, marked his passing by sharing a black and white photo of the actor on Twitter, but wrote: "RIP Pete Waterman. Loved The Sweeney. Loved Minder even more. He was 74."

However, it seems she quickly realised her gaffe as the tweet was taken down not long afterwards.

The broadcaster then tweeted the image of Dennis once again, saying that she was sorry for her error.
