Inspired by Aryan supremacists in North Dakota, the party believes that if it owns more than half the buildings in the Hertfordshire borough it will be able to do whatever it wants.
A spokesman said: The current opinion polls suggest were not going to win any seats. Nobody knows why.
So, in order to satisfy our white-hot desire for total control, it will be easier for all concerned if we just buy a town.
We will swiftly turn Stevenage into a utopia, or as Nigel calls it a yook-topia. Everything in the town will be British. Well, English really. Were not savages.
Martin Bishop, a UKIP member from Didcot, said: I will load up the Qashqai with food and guns and head east, probably via Aylesbury. Some say it takes just under two hours.

Refers to this issue from November 2013 :
White supremacist trying to turn town into Aryan haven.
LEITH, N.D. Residents of a tiny North Dakota farming town are fighting back after learning that a white supremacist wants to turn the community into an Aryan enclave.
Craig Cobb has been buying up land in Leith, a town of 16 people, and inviting others who share his views to move there. So far, no one has come.

(14,737 posts)I must admit, I sometimes visit http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/ for my sins and you do get some very vocal UKIP types on there who spend most of their time bad mouthing Sheffield and it's inhabitants for not being right wing enough. Maybe such people might find the prospect of moving to somewhere more "ideologically pure" enticing?

They just get Tories defecting to them (I presume this is because they can't get elected as UKIPpers): http://www.thecomet.net/news/stevenage_conservative_councillor_defects_to_ukip_1_2304638

(101,307 posts)Ah, Stevenage. I grew up there. The article is illustrated by the most photogenic part of it Wikipedia could find to use for a photo. Everything looks worse.

Don't suppose you can remember the name of the village which is up the road apiece to the right of Stevenage with lots of well preserved old houses ?

(101,307 posts)Assuming 'right' means 'east', that is. I can't remember how old they are, to be honest.
