If Doug Jones wins the 2017 AL US Senate Election but loses re-election in 2020,

Doug Jones could be appointed US Attorney General if a Democrat wins the 2020 US Presidential Election or run for the US Senate or Governor of AL in 2022 when Shelby-R or Ivey-R decide not to seek re-election.
