The likely Democratic Nominee for the 2020 CO US Senate Election will either be US Representatives Ed Perlmutter(CO-7) or Joe Neguse(CO-2). Since 1979, 7 out of 10 CO US Senators were US House Members just prior to getting elected to the US Senate.
Bill Armstrong-R(1973-1979),Tim Wirth-D(1975-1987),Hank Brown-R(1981-1991),Ben Nighthorse Campbell-D/R(1987-1993),Wayne Allard-R(1991-1997), Mark Udall-D(1999-2009), and Cory Gardner-R(2011-2015).
Perlmutter has been in the US House since 2007. Perlmutter has won his US House Races by double digit to landslide margins.
Neguse was just elected to the US House by a 27 percent margin. Before getting elected to the US House, Neguse ran for CO Secretary of State in 2014, but lost in the November General Election by a 2 percent margin.
CO-2 and CO-7 are both D+9 and D+6 PVI districts.
