Another brain-dead phishing scam
I won't list the contents of this email but I'll summarize. Supposedly I violated a toll road rule and now owe money for non-payment. Email comes from a .ph domain and the "invoice" comes from a .br domain.
Looks legit to me !

(1,328 posts)A couple months ago I got one that I was involved in a court case. Had an attachment supposedly from some California lawyers. I did not open it.
Figured if I was wanted it would come some other way than thru an email.

(2,593 posts)I got a telephone message (land line phone) from someone who claimed I would be involved in a court case. Claimed he was an investigator for the IRS. However, his accent kind of gave the whole game away. I figured he was probably calling from Nigeria.
And, like you, I figured that if I was somehow in trouble with the IRS, that they would notify me by snail mail, since I've been here for, oh, 30 years. Did not bother to call this mofo back.
