I went into Control for Sound Manager and found that the speaker switch was off. I turned it back on and it was okay. Caution. When I turned on laptop this a.m. the speakers were off again. I had to go back into Sound Manager and uncheck the box where they were turned off.

I hope this helps. And, I hope that whatever those 11 Updates MS sent haven't corrupted something permanently. I'll know when I next turn off LT and restart later today.
