My works wdb file won't open on 8.1 pro........

I understand they won't but then I heard if I got works suite 9 I could....

I have massive amounts of data converted to database.

I looked at file pro but its crazy pricing and sales is scarey.

The info appears to have carried over its a local government computer and they transferred the old drive here.

I tried several things including Open Office and nothing...

I'm totally lost.

only the word processor - task manager and works, I left out all the other useless stuff. It worked I found if I checked it worked with Windows 7 in last known working capability, it worked. I opened most of the databases and then saved them in a text & tab format. I don't know if there were other choices but perhaps this would convert later. They now seem to work. I have a works plus 2008 but I can't find the key code info it did load word but not much more.

I think the key is the Works task manager once the old database show in the history they open normally. It sucks that MS did away with this I've used it since 1999. I found it a quick way to put old info into a database, it allowed me to have a larger misc field for extra info. I tend to click copy and paste the info in text form for requests.

I guess we will see if if acts up down the line.
