Malwarebytes FREE edition -- how & where to get it

Go to www.malwarebytes.org

Click on the Malwarebytes for For Home tab on the top line and click on the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (first choice you see) and download from there. After it downloads, run and install it but DO NOT opt for the "Professional" version when you click to install and you will get the free version.

I just managed to get this installed on three of my computers (old and new ones) and it works just fine and saved my old desktop that was infected with PUP malware nightmares. I seriously thought I was out of luck to say the least!

>>In the past, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has detected only PUPs, or Potentially Unwanted Programs, that were mostly harmful and deceiving. Our users expected more and so we’ve revised our policy to include PUPs in our database that most of our users find annoying or misleading.

More about PUPs here: https://blog.malwarebytes.org/news/2013/07/malwarebytes-adopts-aggressive-pup-policy/

Glad to see this is easy enough to find now and it does install a very useful abbreviated version of Malwarebytes FOR FREE! !!

It removes a whole lot more than just PUPs.

Frys had a sale on the paid version back when it was a lifetime deal, not a yearly subscription. The sale price was $10.99-I bought about 8 copies.

I install the free version on any computer I build and on any that come in for me to fix.
