facebook notification question

I have every notification setting turned to "off". But I keep getting facebook notifications for friend suggestions. I cannot for the life of me find a setting that is letting this through.

I tried googling help for this and all the suggestions were things I've already checked.

Does anyone know why I am getting this notification?

(annoyance level is only like a 2, so it's not driving me crazy, but I just can't figure out where it's coming from).

1. I can't tell you how to keep them from doing that, wish I could.

I hate getting friend suggestions when it's simply a friend of some other friend. Or when I get a friend request from someone I do not know, but we have mutual friends, which is probably why they got a friend suggestion and simply acted on it.

The only thing you can do, is go deep within your settings and make sure everything related is turned off.

Do you know how to get to all those settings ?

eta: Ok I went into my own settings and you can shut off a lot, but it appears there is NO
setting to turn off ALL Friends notifications especially from Facebook. I'm sure this is a profit-oriented move on their part.
