Question - How to move photos from Samsung SCH-u350 phone to laptop?

I would like to move some photos from our old Samsung SCH-u350 3G flip phone to my laptop with Windows 10. I recently purchased a cable with a USB connector to link the phone, as the phone did not come with a USB cable. Upon connecting the cable to both devices, and turning on both devices, my file explorer did not show the phone. I tried going through the phone's various settings to try to send its photos, but had no luck. I Googled how to do this, but the results were of little to no use. I am somewhat computer literate, but not especially so.

Can anybody in DU help me move my photos, or suggest what to try next?

1. Can you email them to yourself? That's what I used to do when I had a flip phone.

My phone wasn't the same make as yours, though.

you can link the phone to another Bluetooth-equipped device within about five or ten feet and send the file from one device to the other without wires.

Thanks.

I have to manually set the USB type to "file transfer" each time I do this.

I also use this method to put files on the phone.

7. Hopefully, when you connect them via the USB, a notification will appear indicating the connection.

Tapping on that notification will (hopefully) cause a menu to appear where you can select the type of file transfer.

If you can't see the notification, you might have to swipe down from the top to see the list of notification messages.

It might work differently on your Samsung than my Moto Ace.

Perhaps you can google "android set USB type" or "Samsung set USB type" and get so better info.

When connected, the phone will appear to the computer as an external disk drive.

Good luck.

My laptop doesn't show a connection, or even a new device connected.

I will try googling as you suggested.

Thanks for your time.

10. The notification should appear on the phone. The phone is where you set the USB type.

If the connection is successful, the phone will appear to the laptop as an external drive.

Try googling with the exact name of your phone.
