My neighborhood is the first test market for Google Fiber which starts next month.

What pros and cons would there be for signing up for this new service? It does seem pricey except for the free plan which may be slow?

is very cheap.

ATT's Elite Package offer 6Mbps/768Kbps for $48/month

$20/month for 170 times the DL bandwidth seems like a great deal to me.

I just did a speed test and I am at 4.86/0.63. So, I guess the free 5mbps would be an improvement. I also wonder if I'll get more ads since it's google.

you will need to pay a $300 install fee. They will allow you to pay it over a year's time. That's $25 a month.

I'm looking forward to hanging up on AT&T, but I'm not expecting Google Fiber for another year where I live.
