I'm getting a new computer...need help or advice.

What I want to know is how to get all the stuff off of my old one onto the new one?
Can I connect the two together and download the stuff to the new one?

I am an idiot with new tech crap...

I believe that the PC world has copied Macs' "migrate" application. NYC_SKP May 2013 #1

In another genius move, "migrate" allows you to bring whatever you want, all or parts, from one computer to another; your old computer to your new one.

This can include everything, passwords and bookmarks and programs and settings, everything, with one cable, and it's just like you can go right back to work like nothing happened except you now have a faster better computer!

Windows tried something like that, not sure of the name of it tho.

Good luck.
