That #@%&*** Alureon trojan is a major PITA to remove.

Took about 6 hours to remove it completely from someone's laptop.

MSE and Malwarebytes would remove it until the next reboot, Then it would come back about 10 minutes later. I wish people would stop downloading all these "free" helper apps and toolbars.
Fucking Conduit and Sweet Packs.
Finally got the hidden volume on the hard drive tracked down and deleted. A Linux Live disk is your friend.

in the last two days I've removed conduit, sweetpacks, and Babylon from 6 diff pc's.

User today, she was downloading shit "for school" on her work pc. Got a little toolbar called TotalRecipeSearch toolbar

People crack me up.

...needed to drop the Hamma (ComboFix) to nuke the final hidden driver (random8#'s.sys). Same thing...toolbars, updaters & "helpers" up the wazoo.

If more people knew the power of the live boot CD, this world would be much more interesting.

As it is, an excellent tool for any nerd to keep handy. I used one just last week to handle some problems on the last of my Windows bootable drives.
