Anyway- today it just shut down on it's own. Does anyone have a clue what any of this means?

In other words, your Mac crashed. The report lists your OS version, system extensions and hardware configuration.

3. Have you installed anything new lately?

Maybe added new hardware? You may have an older driver loading that the OS doesn't like.

they piss me off so much! I haven't added any software at all. Have no idea why I am getting frequent freeze ups lately.

7. Some things to try
Tue Sep 17, 2013, 07:56 PM
Sep 2013

Start up while holding the shift key. That's Safe Mode, only OS X loads, nothing third party. See if you panic again. Also, run Software Update.

I've never used Widevine Media Optimizer. You might update that, too.

Important: Do those things one at a time and see if the problem persists. You want to try to narrow down the cause.

10. Could be wonky memory. Test it.
Wed Sep 18, 2013, 12:38 AM

Memtest is the best option for Macs (as far as I know memtest86 won't boot, if anybody else knows better please let me know!); it will take a while but definitely rule out, or pin down, faulty RAM as the problem.

If it isn't the RAM, I've heard there are copies of the Apple hardware diagnostic CD in the wild, but since it's technically internal-use-only it would be a copyright violation to download. I seriously don't have a copy and wouldn't know where to start looking beyond the usual suspects.
