Maddow Deflates GOP ‘Man Crush’ on Putin: ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ TY Rachel!~

This is Posted in the Barack Obama Group

Fox News’ Eric Bolling may prefer shirtless, gun-toting Vladimir Putin to the fully-clothed, bike-riding Barack Obama, but according to Rachel Maddow, there’s another reason why conservatives are flocking to the Russian president. On her show Friday night, Maddow revealed that an anti-gay rights group called The World Congress of Families will be hosting their 2014 meeting at the Kremlin in Russia.

As Putin’s “becoming a hero to literally fascist groups in Europe for him being super anti-gay,” Maddow explained, “Vladimir Putin, and Russia under Putin are also becoming kind of a north star for anti-gay forces here at home in the United States.” Some on the Christian right are even suggesting that one Russia passed anti-gay laws, “people from the west would begin to emigrate to Russia the same way russians used to emigrate to the United States and Europe. American conservatives should move to Russia.”

But, as Maddow said, those extreme conservatives were “just ahead of their time.” Following Putin’s scathing op-ed in The New York Times, the rest of the right have chosen him to be their “new hero.”

“It is not just the far, far, far right, anti-gay right anymore,” Maddow said. “It is the right in general. Both in Congress and in the conservative media peanut gallery, who have decided real Americans should show how much they love our country by maybe moving to Russia. Because Vladimir Putin is the kind of strong and decisive leader that we want and we love.”

snip//

“Seriously, I know you guys hate President Obama, so it feels good to have a man crush on somebody else,” Maddow concluded, “but this guy is a president of Russia. Zip it up, you guys, seriously. Have some respect.”

There's more and a Vid of Rachel's show..

This is what I see.

Every picture tells a story and there is a hell of a lot to see here. First and foremost Obama is looking straight at Putin, however Putin's eyes are downcast. Obama also has his hands crossed, not casually but rather decisively. Putin looks like he is wringing his hands.

What does that mean? The body language? Obama won and Putin damn well knows it.

It looks like that great escape won't be to Canada after all. But most of them have been brain washed by CT, so they think they know all about Russia. It's a cool place. Okay, cold as can be in the winter, but hey...

Russia may even want them, if they convert to one of the largest faiths there, Russian Orthodox or Islam. Since their real objection is religious, they might pick the Christian model. Since many may be Protestants, they may feel squeamish. But hey...

They will also have to be willing to live under the Russian conscription laws which may or may not be a good idea. Since many are chicken hawks, they likely think they can buy their way out of it and there's a good chance of that. But they may fail, as others have:

A significant portion of Russians of conscript age try to avoid conscription, mostly because of specific code of violence which has developed in the army since 1967 called Dedovshchina and also poor conditions in Russian Army, which makes large number of conscript-age Russian youth worry about their health or even lives while in the army...

Just not going to a draft station – draft-dodging. This is a criminal offence, punishable by up to two years in prison, depending on the time spent dodging. Russian police and military draft boards often perform conscription through detention [1]. Quite often the would-be recruit would avoid signing the papers that require to pass the board instead. Without that, the "invitation" is considered undelivered, and not showing up is not illegal. In practice, that means living a decade off the grid. This is countered by knocking the doors at 5 AM and having the recruit sign before he would become fully conscious...

The Russian voencoms respond by using increasingly illegal means, referring to non-existent laws and acts, "losing" documents that jeopardize the chance of a conscript being deemed fit for duty, and continuous psychological pressure, with 2011 probably being the apex due to a low birthrate in 1993. Those that attempted a medical discharge and failed are often punished for their resistance by assigning them to the worst units and jobs possible, e.g. a conscript with a heart defect was forced to volunteer for contract frontline service because he almost died hulking around 50-kilo cauldrons several times every day, since his defect was 3 mm rather than 5. Voencoms are rumored (no other source is simply possible) to have established an unofficial bonus system for every conscript, especially if he was unfit for duty and yet conscripted...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_Russia

Oh my, Russia does not have a Bill of Rights. Or some of those others that are offensive to American conservatives. But not all is lost, for Russia is a mixed bag:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_Russia

People so determined to take the rights of others in the USA, won't mind if they don't have a much bleeding heart liberal stuff over there.

Like Tom DeLay opined that he couldn't believe that a jury full of liberals would convict him. Since, they are all soft hearted.

I predict conservatives emigrating to Russia may have a change of heart and support Iran, Syria and others Russia does. They may even dump Israel off their prayer list.

BTW, I don't think talk of overthrowing government and killing their leaders will be protected as well as it is here, IDK. What do you guys think?

OTOH, taxes are low in Russia. But bribes are sometimes required. If they can jump through the hoops, I'm sure they'll fit right in!

chickenhawks will eat that up.. not!

"Like many countries in the world, Russia has compulsory military service for males of 18 to 27 years of age. The required length of service was 2 years, but by the time I turned 18 it was reduced to 18 months, and eventually down to 1 year in (I believe) 2008.

Russia has the second biggest army in the world with 1.5 million personnel (behind China, and just ahead of the United States). And yet, only about 10% of eligible males report for duty. Everyone else uses any legal and illegal means to dodge the draft. There are two reasons for this:

First, the conditions in the Army are reportedly horrible (bullying, torture, rape, malnutrition, etc). Five to ten thousand conscripts die every year due to suicide, medical negligence, avoidable diseases, etc.

Second, there is no overwhelming national pride in Russia associated with this compulsory military service. I think in order for it to work, people need to believe that you are giving something to your country for the benefit of your fellow citizens

Unfortunately, at this stage of human existance, the rights of gays, women, minorities, the poor and vulnerable are protected or denied by government.

They want government to go away and let society sort the rest out - ending in strong man, corporatist, 'might makes right' rule.

Nothing about human rights other than getting and keeping wealth matters to that political party. The more money, the more freedom, and less money, less freedom.

It has nothing to do with rights and everything to do with power. Gained by any means possible.

IMO. So the media pundit I suspect you are referring to in this instance doesn't care about the kind of rights that Democrats and many others think are of value to lift all up.

Equality under the law doesn't matter. Just power, stolen from others by inequality.

Their hatred is so visceral, personal and tribal that it actually supersedes politics.

Major Expressions of the Obama Derangement Syndrome:

1) Minimization, or complete denial, of his accomplishments and successes.

2) Delegitimization: He's a "foreigner", one who is not like us (xenophobia), different,
a usurper of the throne (doesn't deserve it, didn't earn it) BLACK

3) Making him an object of fear: Muslim, Kenyan, Chicago politician, scary-black-man, Socialist,
Marxist, Fascist, ___________ist, who HATES America and wants to destroy it, and wants to
put everyone into concentration camps.

4) Emasculation: Make him look weak and indecisive, a poor protector, treat him with disdain,
show no respect ("you lie!&quot , be rude and insulting (to him and his family) Hobble him politically,
like slave owners used to hobble their "disobedient" slaves physically.

5) Projection of doubt and guilt onto his persona: Threaten impeachment without justification
(He's got to be guilty of something!). Call him a racist. Accuse him of class warfare.

6) Denigration: Use of demeaning terms in association with him: Stupid, dithering, weak, the
food-stamp president. "Shuckin'-n-jivin', magic negro", according to racist Rush.

7) Manipulation: Taking advantage of ALL situations to forward these principles, even if it goes
against the best interest of the country. Create double-binds and fallacious choices to entrap him.

8) Triangulation: The use of others (The Tea Party, Fox News, Donald Trump, et al.) to express
the socially unacceptable things that they can't say, but wish that they could.

Most black men in this country have been treated in these ways. Because Obama is the President,
and has attained the highest position in our culture and government, the hate for him has been
magnified X 1000. Obama is the Jackie Robinson of American politics.

Palin's klan rallies. I don't have any reason to not call them that. I know it when I see it, and that's who she was appealing to and soon I could not watch it as a flashback to the past.

Then I couldn't watch election night until it was over. And then I cried for three days. I'm not sure what I was expecting, something bad after watching the RWers.

Then 'the lone gunman' types that threatened him before became an army of hatred. It's been so much worse than I'd imagined. He has never been given a fair shake, but he keeps on going like the strong and determined man he is, with the power of love.
