I know DU can get pretty contentious at times as this site and forums represent a broad spectrum of ideas, personalities, ideologies, and the like.

So, I am very happy to say I'll be contributing to this forum quite a bit as the election year gets going. I am saddened to see so many names on someone's appreciation post as people who no longer post at DU. I hope they will return in due course.

For now, I am looking forward to digging around on this group's threads to find resources for how best to help locally in Portland, Oregon area but also help in more general ways to broadcast info out to others.
