No GD, Obama is no Bernie Sanders. Obama is a one of a kind and you will miss

him sorely when he is gone! Getting tired of the "Obama is no XYZ." NO SHIT, he is a one of a kind. The best POTUS of my lifetime! We can only hope the next POTUS is half as good!

I like Bernie and I like HRC...I can only pray they will measure up to Obama is some way. He saved our collective asses many times now over 2 terms and we will be lucky to have another POTUS that looks that far ahead into our future.

GD is getting stupid and we still have months and months to go to the primaries...

Well, maybe not, you said "one of a kind" and I often refer to him as "Superman", so maybe we dont disagree.

Yeah, if people just would think back to where we were, what W did to us, what Obama did to save us

IN THE FACE OF THE GREATEST POLITICAL OBSTRUCTION IN HISTORY

well, like I said, fucking Superman....

is he wrong on TPP, damn skippy straight he is, but his overall record is amazing WHEN COMPARED to most others and in some cases regardless of comparison....

You folks know what it took to pass ACA, what it took in HIM to even try?

fuck dont even try and tell me the guy didnt kick some ass because he did

IF Sanders and HRC show half the kind of dedication the POTUS shows (toward whatever key legislation they want their administration to be remembered by) I will be a happy camper.

I have no idea what he is thinking about with the TPP, but I trust him because stated quite simply - he did NOT re-invade Iraq nor (as some warhawks so wanted) get us into WWIII with Russia!

AND people already forget about Cuba and the inroads he made with Iran!

Like I said...HALF as good and I will be happy...O'Malley and whoever else included!

the same hatred for him ensued here at the DU. TONS of anti-Obama threads. 2015, ACA is far from perfect, and single payer will become a reality as long as other than a GOP won't win the WH and at least one DEM control house or senate. Some still complain here although its helping millions in face of USSC possibility in taking away subsidies from people who need help in payment of their healthcare although corporations like Walmart get millions in taxpayer's money (subsidies).

Now again, he's being trashed again because of TPP. Actually he's being trash in general. Its like being in a teabagger's heaven at the DU.

I showed hubby this site and he read some of the threads and he truly thought it was run by the GOP.

I want to see another POTUS come along and be as dedicated to the country as Obama. He never had a chance with Congress or the SCOTUS...yet normalized talks with Cuba and Iran and got Obamacare passed despite Congress!!! One of a kind sheshe2. We will miss him.

People are going to downplay this POTUS...but he did BIG things in office and for the betterment of us all!

And I for one will not shut up about it!

He brought us back from the brink of financial disaster. To add a few more to your list, signed the Lily Ledbetter Act, gave us Kagan and Sotomayor. He supports same sex marriage and equal rights for all. So much more~

But, I'm thinking they will be so busy doing important things to help people that they will be in the news a lot.

And you know what Cha...they were TOO good for us as Americans. By that I mean, so many people do not even know who the VP is or what year we won our independence from Britain. So many do not even vote! They have no idea that they got a POTUS and a FLOTUS that really really worked hard to help out the working poor and middle class!!

I'm just glad I woke up and realized this! We were lucky to get President Obama! We would be lucky to get Mrs. Obama as POTUS down the road!

Mahalo Cha!

snip//

After he leaves the White House, friends say the president will return to his passion: helping African Americans through his My Brother's Keeper Alliance.

What is in Barack Obama’s heart? Underneath that cool exterior, it can be hard to tell. When he leaves office in 2017, he will be a fit 55-year-old with decades of productive life likely ahead of him. How will he use them?

I went to the Bronx on Monday with a hunch that Obama was about to tell us; and I wasn’t disappointed.

At the risk of emphasizing his status as a lame duck, Obama announced the establishment of My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, a nonprofit outgrowth of the My Brother’s Keeper program in the White House that the president announced more than a year ago, with little fanfare from a jaded press and public.

Even highly informed people have never heard of “MBK,” but here was Obama, a la Joe Biden without the profanity, ad libbing that this was “a big deal.”

MOre..

Course a lot of us have heard of MBK because we've been paying attention to what the President has actually done during his time in Office!

I'm really glad too, Rex! Mahalo!

when reading the paper with yet more stories about Bernie and Hillary. I haven't come on here very much because of the "mine's better than your's" threads about them constantly. SO tired of it.

I clearly remember being in tears watching the election results in 2008 (especially with my biracial grandson visiting - which is rare - kids)! What a super special night that was.

I can guarantee if there are any tears, it will be because hopefully DU will get back to some kind of normalcy. Ha, not that it ever is!
