800-Pound Pig Found On Streets Just Wants Someone To Love Him

Theodore the pig was found running through the streets of Langley, British Columbia, all alone, and no one has any idea where he came from. He was initially spotted on a very busy road, and so his rescuers knew it was important to get him to safety as quickly as possible so he wasn’t injured by a passing car. It wasn’t an easy feat getting an 800-pound pig to corporate, but his rescuers refused to give up, and Theodore became an official resident of the Langley Animal Protection Society.

“His rescue was reasonably straightforward although he was very reluctant to get onto the horse trailer,” Jayne Nelson, executive director of the Langley Animal Protection Society, told The Dodo. “It took about two hours and a chocolate chip granola bar to convince him to jump in the trailer.”

Once he was safe, Theodore's rescuers searched for his family, but unfortunately came up empty — and so once he was neutered, they began the tricky task of trying to find a family who would be willing to take on such an enormous new family member.

Despite his size, Theodore is one of the sweetest creatures you’ll ever meet. He just wants constant attention and loves from the people caring for him, and would make the most wonderful addition to the right family.
“He is especially fond of tummy rubs and back scratches and makes very adorable pig grunting noises while he gets them,” Nelson said. “He loves to eat his favorite foods, root around his enclosure and snuggle into his comfy straw bed for nice long naps.”

They get a cute baby animal (pic, large feline, etc) and ignore the fact that it will grow up. Then they abandon it. People who do this (and the people who provide the baby animals) are below contempt.

It's obvious from this pigs temperment that he was pampered by humans...up untilthe food bill got to big.

It's not like you can hide a pig that big from the neighbors and the locals were all questioned, so it's likely the piggie dumpers trucked the poor thing well beyond their local area.

Unless the camera angles are weird, I'd say 500-600, max.

800 lb is a BIG hog.
