Jacksonville man (you know which state!) shoots son-in-law in dispute over remote control

An 89-year-old Jacksonville man has been charged with aggravated battery following a Saturday shooting in a dispute over television, police said.

During the argument, Kenon Lee Ferguson told his 59-year-old son-in-law “you don’t own anything in this house,” a police report said.

Joel Edward Perry responded, “do something about it,” the report said.

A witness told police Ferguson went to his bedroom and returned with a .38 caliber handgun. The argument heated up and Perry was shot in the right leg. The injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Isn't great to have a gun when one needs to settle a dispute like this? Aristus Apr 2014 #1

Both of them could have been shot.

More guns!

If that guy manages to avoid jail, I'll bet son-in-law won't screw with him like he used to ...

From the article:

"He is charged with aggravated domestic battery and was being held Monday in the Duval County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Inmates in the jail don’t have television privileges, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office."
